Dear Valued Customer,
To improve the performance and efficiency of its information systems, APL is transferring operation of its data center in Dallas, TX to a new data center located in Plano, TX, the weekend of November 18. We wanted to advise you of the data center migration plan, and what we have done to ensure that there is no impact to your business.
Our information systems will be shut down from just before midnight, US CST*, Saturday, November 18, to noon, CST, Sunday, November 19, while the transfer of operations is completed. We have chosen this time because it is the period of lightest systems usage globally.
All inbound and outbound EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) will be on hold during this time, and our external Web sites (i.e. HomePort and www.apl.com) will be unavailable.
Thousands of hours of advance work have been devoted to this effort to ensure that the migration happens smoothly. Our goal is to minimize disruption and get our systems back on line as quickly as possible, with no impact to your operations.
Below, we have provided answers to questions surrounding our Data Center transfer. If you have additional questions, please call your APL Customer Support Representative or Sales contact.
We’re sorry for any inconvenience this brief outage causes, but the result will be greater reliability in the data systems that link us to you. As always, we want to thank you for your business, and for your understanding as we endeavor to improve the quality of the services that we offer.
