Honduras Update
07 July 2009
Dear Valued Customer,
Honduras’ political situation remains uncertain this week, but we want to assure you that containerized trade continues to flow. Here’s an update on the situation:
- Containerized cargo is moving throughout Honduras.
- Borders with neighboring countries are open to trade.
- The nation’s major port – Puerto Cortes – is open and operating normally.
- Adjacent highways are clear though vulnerable to sudden blockages.
APL’s Honduras office remains open and our vessels continue to call without delay. We’re reporting no incidents in transporting our customer’s imports or exports.
Though normal trade flows have been for the most part restored, continued political unrest could cause renewed disruption. APL is monitoring events closely and has contingency plans ready should freight transport be affected.
We will continue to notify you if conditions change. If you have questions in the meantime, please contact your APL representative.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Yours Sincerely,
|
